It sounds like Avenue Victor Hugo is closing, again, for real this time. Unfortunate, though I'm not sure I agree with that page's stone-serious implication that this is a harbinger of the imminent end of human civilization (read through to the end... whew!).

I find it interesting and tragic that one cited reason for the closing is the fact that lots of people thought the bookstore already had closed, when it had simply changed locations. This is confusing, in my memory; I recall reading news stories about the first closure, which definitely presented it as such, in bold headlines... and then encountering smaller stories elsewhere (maybe just on weblogs) saying that the store had re-opened, or perhaps had never really closed in the first place. This is what we call miscommunication.
