I walked and walked and walked today. I walked to True Grounds to help [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia, and then walked all the way to Harvard Square to shop at Crate & Barrel, where I bought a couch from their remaindered-crap section. (At least one person has said I still paid way too much. It's certainly the most money I've ever spent on an inert object. Maybe next time I'll look into Akbar & Jeff's Furniture Hut or whatever. (Where the elite meet to take a load off their feet.) This was my very first all-by-myself major furniture purchase, anyway.) Then I walked around the square, and then walked home. I walked so much that I became ravenously hungry, which doesn't really happen very often, and then got a headache. And now I'm hungry again. A good workout, I guess.

Won't have the couch for another couple of weeks, sadly.

My work is going OK, for what it is. As the giant hairy fist labeled 'WORK' in the 1930s political cartoon that is my life squeezes the map of helpless Jmacistan, I find weird creative energy splurting out between the fingers, ew. This gets more true when my work carries me into the wee hours and I start gettin' silly. I have thought of, among other things, a couple of new board game designs (including a particular physical mechanic I don't think I've seen before and look forward to exploring) and a webcomic idea.

Time will tell if I ever actually incubate any of these. Once this labor is done I have some Volity catchup to do (though truth be told I last night resaddled that horse, on the sly), and I really want to start doing something about that TV show idea. I haven't shot three feet of film since I got that camera, and meanwhile everyone I tell about the show agrees that it's a terrific idea (if you are a big dork like me (or you)). I continue to be attracted to the utter randomness of it... it's the first genuinely fun-sounding idea I've had that's absolutely nothing like anything I've done in many years. (Which is to say, it's not centered around writing a lot of Perl code...)

Sixty percent turnout in Iraq, man. This may be good. Actually. I am hoping for the best, because I can, and how often do I get the chance, anyway...?
