All done with Season 1(-ish)

The next-to-last first-season Doctor Who was so good that we went ahead and watched the last episode via my scientific compu-brain. I was pleased that the identity of the endboss (as revealed at the end of the next-to-last ep) was a complete surprise to me. Despite all the little spoilers about the first couple of seasons that have trickled my way over the last year, I didn't see that coming. Well done.

This story is heartbreaking.

It has been an emotional time. "A little kid brought a note yesterday that made me break down," said Virginia Hajostek, Mr. Hajostek's wife of 59 years. In an 8-year-old's careful, unsteady hand were the words "We'll miss you Whac-A-Mole," along with drawings labeled "lady you throw balls into" and "the clowns you hit" and, at the bottom, "We'll never forget you and the arcade."
