Embedded

There, The Gameshelf homepage looks a lot less ass now. I've also added embedded Google video viewer thingies to all the show-notes posts.

Apropos of nothing: Where are you, [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia?! You were posting more often when you were in Croatia, dude.

Now I have to pick to the place up, because people are visiting Volity HQ for the first time tomorrow. Time to once again prop up the delicate façade of office organization!

Drugachusetts

I have discovered in my travels that any Mr. Show clip I can think of is on YouTube. These are worth watching.

The one thing that I wish was on YouTube but isn't is the Potato Judge. Or the Sitting Machine.

Explain-a-meme

OK, I can often deduce the source when I see 100 livejournalers all using icons made from the same source material. It is in this way that I learned of the animated film "Rejected", for example, or the TV show "Invader Zim", or know that there was an episode of Buffy where Angel was a muppet. Or that there's a character on Buffy named Angel.

But I am totally lost on the one involving a set of black-and-white posed photographs depicting a man being scared by a sheep-head. Sometimes the icons are animated, showing the man's increasing fear as the sheep-head inches ever closer. Do you know what I'm talking about? What the heck is this from?

#1 - Scramble (Konami, 1981)

Download as a high-quality Quicktime 7 file, or click the play button below to watch it right here.

Visit the show's homepage to subscribe to Jmac's Arcade with iTunes or your the podcast doohickey you prefer. Video and audio-only feeds are available.

Welcome to my new podcast experiment thing. I hope you enjoy it.

The music is "Mycon Theme" from the computer game Star Control II, a.k.a. The Ur-Quan Masters. I think it works well for this piece, but for future episodes I am going to look for a different sound.

Next: Missile Command

I thought it tasted funny

The labels on all six bottles of IPA are upside-down.
