I think I just horked all jmac.org-based mailservices, because I tried to configure a mailing list. Mistake number one. So I'm effectively off the map until I post otherwise. Arrrrrrrgh.

Apologies to all affected, except me, who doesn't deserve any. Am trying to reach people who can bail me out, since I actually have no idea anymore how my mail is configured, since I had certain people set all that up for me, and didn't pay much attention at the time. Mistake number zero.

Update After poring over error logs, I seem to have found the table-leg I kicked out and krazy-glued it back into position, perhaps upside-down, but whatever; I'm getting mail again.

I really need to audit my poor computer's entire mail process. Like, this weekend.

Debian. As I write, I am trying to prop things back up by doing the chicken-dances that the error logs seem to be alluding to, so I might be able to drop out of panic-mode, but we'll see.

I will totally be your best friend if in fact you have Linux sysadmin-foo. Time was I could wobble through this OK, but apt-get, and then everything about Mac OS X (including, er, apt-get), have made me soft.

well, I've spent a chunk of my career as a Linux sysadmin, so I've had sysadmin-foo. Apt-get does tend to make one soft, though. Back in the early Solaris days I compiled everything I ran. When was the last time that happened?

I'm happy to try.

I knew you were a sysadmin but knew not the flavor. This is excellent news. Yes.

Anyway, I've got the thing up on blocks, and all seems well for the nonce, but: ow, burned fingers. I will have to have to talk with the friend who helped me set all this up, so I can learn exactly what it is I'm running... whee.

Thanks for your offer of help. I may yet run crying in your direction whilst dropping a trail of broken config files, but I'm feeling optimistic.

Should things that were sent to you Saturday be re-sent?

The email received today from RCWR was received and, given the subject matter, forwarded along, if that's what you're asking. :) Thank you.
