Am watching Wonderfalls, the second TV show I started to watch without any idea what it's about, but which friends mentioned in weblogs. (The first was Carnivale.) Yeeeees, I can see why my friends like it. It reminds me of Northern Exposure, but with a different spin... all the main characters seem to be equally perplexed, but are trying very hard. It's charming.

The opening credits montage failed to explain the show's consistent gimmick, the main character's innate speak with tchotchkes spell-like ability as a 12th-level ranger, so I am not sure what's going on here. She seems upset when it happens, suggesting more insanity than fancy. This is interesting, though it could be stupid. We'll see.

Alas, I do not have a tape-eating machine! If you can burn it onto something round I could handle. Else maybe you could show it as bonus material at a future Buffy night or something, I dunno. :) (Or I could just wait for it to come 'round again. Anyway, after watching the whole episode I have a pretty good idea what's going on. (Ohh, I see... it's, uhh, Quantum Leap recast as Northern Exposure...? Yay.))

8th level. at 12th level they get the ability to initiate the conversations themselves. not to mention the two-tchotchkes fighting ability.
