I’ve spent most of the weekend so far sitting by an open window in my apartment, or at a booth in the Diesel, working on good things... Will announce when appropriate.
People are all chatty-bananas with the weather, in town. A man in a green car rolled down Elm Street, belting out the chorus of some happy new pop song: La la la laa-aa! La la la laa-aa! People he passed turned to one another: Was that guy singing? That guy was singin’ along! I thought I heard one person say “The Breakfast Song” but between iTunes and Google I cannot find any confirmation or disambiguation here, alas.
Then a car filled with distracted kiddos nigh ran over my toes at a red light. “Oh my god, you almost ran over that...” said a young man within, apparently unable to choose a word to describe the jmac properly, and who can blame him? “Aiee, I nearly died,” I told them, sleepily, as I sidestepped behind the car.
Hey, iTunes carries Tortoise’s entire discography (or so I think) now! And they have a new album. Nice.

Date: 2004-04-18 09:50 am (UTC)It's hazy sunny here - off to wind up the victrola and roll the window down and hit the open road. Zoom zoom. Might have to go be semi-productive in some comfortable cafe by the river, cool spring breezes flowing in to push out winter to run down the gutter like yesterdays rain.

And yeah, I need to hear the new Tortoise album at some point. Surprisingly zero mention of it on all my music mailing lists.
