You'll probably like Spider-Man 2
* Most people seem to like it a lot
* You saw it months ago and liked it yourself

But I just saw it for the first time tonight
* Enh.
* Absurd romantic drama
* Not very much Spider-Man in it
* Might like it more after some rumination, granted

Additional insults
* Way over-the-top horror-movie bit in the hospital
* Scene that serves no purpose except as a teaser for Spider-Man 3
** Couldn't they have had the dignity to put it after the credits?
** Does this mean that Doc Connors won't become The Lizard like he's supposed to?
*** I mean, they gave him the one arm and everything
*** Dammit

Additional insults (cont'd)
* Wow, Bruce Campbell has gotten heavy
* Whoppers were nasty
** Two of them were chewy
** I hope that they're not insect egg sacs or something

spoilers spoilers spoilers (in this comment)

Sam Raimi has stated he did not know if he wanted what's his name to use the G. Goblin's arsenel or not. He mentioned the possibility of the guy having a reaction of, "Now I know all the nasty things my father has done and I can allow all this anger I've had to drain out of me." Okay, I found a link that quotes what I read before:

You're currently at work on the script for Spider-Man 3...
I just finished this morning - I mean the basic story. I'd been working on it with my brother.

The sense you get towards the end of Spider-Man 2 is that Peter Parker and Harry Osborn will face off in the third. Is that a fair assumption?
Well I'm trying to... I can't tell you.

What can you tell us?
It's going to follow the natural progression of the growth of these two individuals, Mary Jane Watson and Peter Parker. It will be a love story and it will track the relationship as they encounter new conflicts that separate them. And hopefully their own will and love for each other will bring them back together in the piece. Harry will be a problem, but I'm not certain if Harry will become the Goblin or not. The thing I'm really not certain about is if he comes to feel, "Now I have the means to destroy Spider-Man - I was too weak before but now I have a way and I will become the man that my father always dreamed I could be." Or, does he feel: "Now I understand why Spider-Man had to destroy him, because he was a mass murderer and now my anger can drain away from me." It could be an answer to a question and it ends the pursuit, but I'm not certain which way to go.

http://www.darkhorizons.com/news04/040721a.php says he doesn't know which villain(s?) he's going to use, and repeats the above paragraphs.

You know the surgeon hand reaching up with a buzz saw? I thought that was an Evil Dead riff.

WTF.. more Goblin? I hate the f***ing Goblin! I'm all for "The Lizard".

I like 'Whoppers'... even the egg-sacky chewy ones.

Movie is not young child friendly
* unless your children are frequently exposed to loud noises
* mine are not
* enterainment value was limited

Disbelief, suspension of
* some drama elements very contrived
* many pull one out of movie experience

But...
* it was still worth going
* maybe I will rent the next one
