Donnie Darko is one of my favorite movies, and probably tops the category of movies I hated at first and then realized I loved on subsequent viewings. So I like this spoiler site, with its literal explanation to the many strange events in the movie, based on text found scattered around the film's official website (and which the spoiler-page author gathered into one place). Even though I was satisfied with my own interpretation, I think this one is pretty cool as well, and makes me want to watch the movie again sometime. (And no, my interpretation wasn't "It was all a dream" or "He hallucinated the whole thing", a cop-out theory which I think the movie is carefully set up so as to explicitly discourage.)
The DVD commentary makes the director's vision of the story pretty explicit. It also has a pretty funny bit of Jake Gyllenhaal giving his impression Frank the Bunny as performed by Christopher Walken. Not a great commentary overall (for example: "My motivation in this scene was some pizza just off camera. Man, was I hungry!"), but not without its moments.
