One of the suberics recently half-jokingly suggested that the local friend who replaced one of her regular movie nights with a DNC-night give the same coverage to the RNC, so that the same crowd can throw soft things at the screen as a group activity. But if night 1 set the tone for the whole convention, I don't think that would work very well. As Kos said,

And hence nothing you can really talk back to. The entire structure makes my blood boil.

In happier news (swiped from jadelennox, look at the bios of the prinicipals of this small wargaming-revival company. One of them looks so out of place to almost seem a weak joke, but nope, it's the real deal; he's on record as being a game geek.

I support and embrace the celebrity-jockification of nerdy pastimes. Go stand next to Vin Diesel so I can get a group photo.

although michael moore is on the floor of the convention, and when he was blasted by mccain, he stood up and acted like he was accepting cheering. and he was saying "two more months! two more months!"

just sayin, there are some interesting things about the RNC. like how paranoid the cops are around here that yesterday they stopped the folks dressed as bananas who were advertising the opening of a new jamba juice, just to make sure they were insurgents from the chaquita faction come to protest the president's stand on fruit. i know i keep bringing this up, but it really was bizarre.
