The amazing adventures of JMAC

(The thing about me oversleeping -- which I do nearly every morning, for at least an hour or two (you'd think that this would redefine my frame of reference and I'd start calling the times when I get up early as "undersleeping" but whatev, I enjoy lying to myself I guess) -- is that it means I sleep through the radio, which is always tuned to NPR, and so the morning's bad news of bombs, beheadings, kidnappings and other gruesome world events filters in through my sleep. I don't remember any of it, but later in the day, as I browse news on the Web, I repeatedly dimly recall hearing about all the top stories, that morning, unconscious. I cannot know what cumulative effect this may be having upon my psyche.)
Yesterday three people at work called me jmac, whereas I don't think anyone here has before. In all three cases i didn't really notice it until the conversation was half done, when it struck me as strange how much they were enjoying saying "jmac", over and over, trying different inflections, giggling. But hey, that's what it's there for.
Anyway, this is a feature. I have been hoping that I'd earn that name here, especially since another Jason has showed up, and I keep having my attention interrupted by people going Jason Jason Jason and not referring to me at all. That the phenomenon may be catalyzing all at once, for reasons I can't guess, is pleasing and amusing, to me.
The google image search for 'jmac' no longer has pictures of the JMAC-5000 or whatever it is at the first thing, but at least it's still on the first page.
