So at the urging of various members of y'all, I watched that one South Park episode in its entirety. Yes, the Puffy video was very funny, as was the bit with Jim Lehrer, but I still seem to be missing something that the rest of you are seeing.

It's true that, as I was advised, the episode as a whole carried a different message than the first 10 minutes did. However, it was a shift from the initially apparent moral of "The 2004 U.S. presidential election is a crock that you should ignore" to the final message of "If you participate in any elections at all, you are a singing, dancing fool, and we mock you."

Is this sort of thing a representative sample of the election-inspired media that the youngern have been watching? Coz, you show me this, and then you sigh about the flat youth turnout rate last Tuesday, and I trace lines in the air between them while looking at you questioningly.

The one PETA guy who looked like daerr was pretty funny, though.

Stan said that, and then was told by the other characters that he didn't seem to realize that all elections are always between a D and a T, since they're the only "electable" personality archetypes.

That's a valid point of view, and it's also so cynical to get my blood boiling. Especially now.
