Usenettish LJ

Anyone encountered an app (Web- or desktop-based) that refactors LJ content into a Usenet-like view, so that (for example) all posts and comments on one's Friends page can be viewed as a flat list of siblings, sorted by time? Or treating all posts as threads, with with each post's last-modified timestamp based on the time of its most recent comment (or the post itself if it has no comments)? That would be interesting to see.

There appears to be some discussion of the difficulties here, but it seems like there may be some hope at some point in the future.
