That Axis & Allies thing was a bust; we declared Uncondtional Surrender of Everybody after the game was threatening to run into its ninth hour, though I think Japan (
jhango) was careering towards a unilateral economic victory by that time. While I appreciated seeing firsthand what was clearly part of the inspiration for the strategic computer games I love so much today, I doubt I'll ever want to play it again, much less buy a copy myself (which I was thinking I'd do until it became clear that my between-turns wait averaged about 45 minutes).
The games I most enjoyed were my perennial favorites RAMbots and Schotten Totten, which I played twice each, and maybe invested two hours in total. In retrospect I probably could have maximized my fun efficiency by bugging out late Saturday night, but I didn't want to do the long drive at that point, and zzzzz. But it was a very fun thing anyway; many thanks to J&C for letting us come trash their beautiful (really) new house!
