I managed to notice that Harvard was doing matching contributions to employee donations to tsunami relief efforts, on the final day they were doing this (today). So I finally gave a little, choosing Doctors Without Borders as the target charity, since I've heard their name come up a lot but never negatively. You might want to see if your employer does the same sort of thing; I reckon it's more likely if it's a great big org like mine.
This makes me want to call my parents and see how they are doing. Not because I am worried about disaster sweeping over Maine, but because I think of how mom was calling the tsunami "the salami" when I was visiting for Xmas, and I smile despite myself.

Date: 2005-01-21 05:46 pm (UTC)good for you for donating. i went to the website as directed by george herbert walker bush and bill clinton to find out a list of legitimate charities, but no one, not even ER, says bad things about doctors without borders.
