Volity code day today, the first in a while. (Most of my Volity days since I started it as a "job" have been more planning and prose-writing.) Made a frightful amount of changes. I don't feel like testing them right now, but I know I will later. Maybe some fiction, maybe some cartoons first.
Getting anxious about some aspects of the business plan, because I am now exactly halfway between my first saying "we'll figure out where we are at the end of summer", and the end of summer. Much has happened, but I want to know where it's all going. Had a phonemoot with
daerr about it yesterday, and look forward to other business forcing him to travel down this way soon so we can discuss it in person.
I figured out yesterday that, starting this weekend, I have 44 "Volity days" until my deadline. That's a deceptively short amount of time. On the other hand, it carries a subtle feature: when I start to grow impatient about my situation, I can say to myself: Hang on, just wait until the deadline, at least, and it sounds reasonable. (Not that I'm actually doing much waiting.)
Last editing class yesterday. No more reasons to put off finishing this tape! Not that I have been... I've started hacking away at footage, if only on paper. But it still seems to be taking days. Or anyway: days have elapsed.
As expected, really starting to question the idea of doing this (and more!) every single week, unless I can break it down to a science. Maybe it's a matter of assembling a few full one-off episodes first. Actually... maybe I should shoot the whole damn "season" before submitting it to the station. It's not our content is especially timely. Hm... I'll have to find out how long SCAT expects series to be.
Gave out two of my 1999 business cards over the last couple of days. It's been a while. One to
meerkitty (who I had the pleasure of bumping into at the Diesel, whereupon I learned of the continued expansion of the "Hey everyone let's move to Boston more or less" meme) and one to a guy in class who seemed curious as to what I was planning on doing with TV access.
I still have buckets left. I will probably get sick of their design or slogan before I run out of cards. I'm vaguely surprised that I still like them.
