Clean bill from the dentist. As clean a bill as I could get without more X-rays, anyway; my unfilled cavities are all hidden from peeking and poking, deep down between my back teeth. But things apparently look good enough all around that nobody felt any need to attend to them just yet.

Was told that I grind my teeth, and was shown the surfaces that I've flattened over the years. It's weird... nobody mentioned this last time, including the dentist. (I saw only a technician today, though clearly a very experienced one.) But the sheared-off tips of my canines is apparently undeniable evidence to this activity. I'm supposed to pay attention to it over the next few months. (And if I don't catch myself doing it, that means I am probably doing it in my sleep, and get to stuff things in my mouth before going to bed. Joy...)

i love my dentist. he has cookies in his lobby (he says that if you are doing right by your teeth, you shouldn't feel guilty about having a cookie), parafin treatments for your hands so you relax, and for long procedures he has a foot masseus come in. he has singlehandedly restored my faith that dentists are sadist assholes. plus he has a soul patch!

My mom grinds her teeth in her sleep, so she wears a little plastic thing. It is fun to catch her just before she goes to bed because the appliance gives her a cute lisp. :-)

I grind. I've ground for years and years, apparently. I was given a rubbery mouthguard once but I didn't stick with the program.

I'm currently on and off with anti-grind mouthguard. I may have erred by having it made to also be an anti-apnea appliance (push lower jaw forward), because it's uncomfortable.
