The Gameshelf will air on Channel 3 in Somerville from 10 to 10:30 pm on Wednesdays, starting September 7 (next week). Because I'm aiming for only a monthly schedule, it will be the same dang episode rerun the following three Wednesdays, with a new one in October.

It it lives that long, the show may move at the start of January when SCAT does its semiannual series renewal and reorganization. I'll have a say in this, so if there's a better timeslot I'll look for it. For now, though, I am not picky, and let the programming director put it wherever he felt it most appropriate.

Watching your show now. Here I will speak of it. I am making *no* allowances for your time and equipment limitations, so probably your response to most of this will be "Dream on."

Dude! NO MORE KNEE BOUNCING.

The music cues (well, the one for SOC, which is how far I've gotten) run over the talking too long. They're not quite loud enough to obscure it, but it's still distracting.

Intercut closeups when you talk about the little pieces.

I like the hot live board-gaming action! That works really well. This is exactly how I want to see games reviewed.

If you freeze-frame just before the cut on "...It's called Rampart", you will immediately call the police to take that grinning homicidal maniac away.

Uneven sound level, I bet you knew about that.

In the Rampart section, it's not very clear what anybody is *doing* -- well, the build phase is clear, but not the firing phase. How is the shooting controlled? So that bit gets dull.

Looking at the camera is good; looking at Eric is good; looking down at the table (offscreen below the shot) is not good. Especially when you're not even talking about what's on the table.

Eek! Jump cut! (To "The last thing I want to talk about...")

The intercut screenshots in this PQ segment are done right. Use same pacing for first segment.

Before burning the DVDs to give to the station today I made some of the more trivial changes you listed (all of which had been suggested by at least one other person anyway), like smoothing those jump cuts and putting little nametags over the Rampart castles for a few seconds so you at least know who's shooting whom.

Thanks for watching. I'm glad someone enjoyed the boardgame voyeurism. :) Most folks' reactions have been "Eurr, I'm not really sure what's going on here," and I think they have a point too. Looking forward to inventing some interesting boardgame-filming techniques. Hm, I should go watch that Poker show I finally got around to recording...
