I really like this BGG list from Alan Moon (he of "Elfenland" and "Ticket to Ride") about his memories of working at Avalon Hill long ago.

I think my favorite part, actually, is from the commenter who remembered tripping over Moon's cot in the office's basement as a very young AH fan. He and his dad had visited, expecting Willy Wonka's Game Factory and instead finding a messy house -- albeit one with games all over it. Doesn't that strike a chord.

Wow. I read the whole thread. Interesting. I have only played AH games a few times (Railroad Baron, and some war game I don't remember). So many counters and pieces!
