If I wanted to find a show-type venue to submit Jmac's Arcade to, maybe after I make a handful more, where should I look? I mean, a venue with a live audience, gathered into a place, with the intent to see short subjects. One of those.

The idea occurred to me this evening as I showed the two that I have made so far to a friend tonight. I had not displayed them (at least not in their final versions) in-person before, and was very pleased at the result. I think they could go over quite well. Please tell me, also, if I am horribly mistaken.

I wonder if people who would enjoy them have been giving them a pass because they don't care about video games. I've been downplaying the fact that they're not actually about the video games - or at least not so much as they seem - and starting to think that I've been overdoing it.

(Don't confuse this with a troll for feedback; I expect the common case to be that it was watched and did not happen to move the watcher to comment further. That's all right.)

I had not considered the screening room. Thanks. Now if only they had a webpage with actual information on it... fooey. Guess I'll have to actually call and ask a human about it.

I am fairly sure that this is in fact the very venue I was thinking of. Unless I'm mistaken, I saw the They Might be Giants movie there, and had the life-changing experience of discovering Eric Fensler's G.I. Joe PSA redubs. And a film about Creative Commons. I think [livejournal.com profile] cthulhia drove me to all of these things, years ago, and at the time I had no idea where we were. But I think that's the place.
