More Game & Gameshelf stuff

Ahoy mateys. I am planning some practice plays of near-future Gameshelf games at my house this month. If you have volunteered to play on Wednesday, please consider coming, especially if you haven't played the game before or are otherwise rusty on the rules. The goal here is to let the games we actually film look better, with less rules balking and flubbing.

You can also come if you don't wanna be on TV but just want to play. I'd appreciate an RSVP in either case.

Contact me if you need directions.

Sunday, March 4, 7pm: Acquire. I haven't played the game before and want to get a feel for how long the game takes and how many players we should have on-camera. I'll probably wait until this time to make a final decision on who the March 7 talent is.

Sunday, March 18, 7pm: M.U.L.E. I'll finagle some solution ahead of time to let people sit around my Mac comfortably and play.

(Aside: I need more ladies for this episode. So far all i gots is doodz.)

Can't come this weekend or to the shoot next week. Am probably not interested in the other. Ah well.

When do you want to use my basement?

Consider your basement a backup location if we have to scrub the Wednesday shoot. :) Other than that I'll save it for later.

Hm. Depending on how my crew responds to an email I just sent I may end up flipping the shooting schedule around... but we'll see. Sadly I'm planning this episode by the seat of my pants because February was so crowded. Sadly * 2 I bet every episode's planning is gonna be like this so I better get used to it!

I am interested, though I can't do this Sunday. I think I can do the 18th. If there are any other times you need a person (keeping in mind that I've probably not played any of the games in question), drop me an email.

I can probably do the 18th (after the Ras Na Eirann).

But only if you need grrlz, since I probably wouldn't get the game much anyway, having never even heard of it outside of here.

I plan on investigating the game myself first to see what it's like, and will report back if it seems like something that boardgame-oriented folks I know would be interested in playing. I suspect so but having not yet seen it myself I have no idea.

This is tangential to a very interesting (and rather depressing) discussion on the shelf-life of digital games versus tabletop games. (Or, indeed, versus any other media.) I look forward to bringing this up on the show.
