Appleseed soft launch

I am pleased to announce the public debut of my latest professional identity, Appleseed Software Consulting LLC. Web and graphic design by Rob Oliver, who was also behind Volity's website and branding efforts.

The website is pretty spare right now; there are at least two major sections, including a new blog, which aren't ready yet. But the remainder makes for a fine public web presence, and so up it goes today.

Yes, the domain name is a little fiddly, but what can you do? I also nabbed appleseedsc.com and appleseedsofwareconsulting.com, but I figure that the version with the hypen in it looks best in print. It's what's going on the business cards.

I think this demonstrates why I can never be a professional contractor(*). I look at the lines "We Make Solutions" and "The Appleseed Difference" and think "I will never sink that low."

(* which is different from saying I will never do contract work.)

Ignoring the market posturing, the site looks good.

Ouch.

Thank you for the compliment but I want to go back and rework the index page now, if it really come across at that soulless. It's probably the first text I wrote for the site.

Oh, iCab says you forgot the closing slash in your logo tag. The perl.gif tag has a slash, but lacks an ALT. The portfolio page has a fair list of HTML sins, and, seriously, I love iCab.

I am presently using Firefox's iCab-emulator plugin (more or less) to attend to these now.
