OK so yeah awesome. These guys over here are using the market tanking to try to stuff over half a trillion oversight-free dollars into their own accounts before anyone can pause to smell a rat, and now those guys over there are hoping to use the very same nationwide clusterfuck as a shield against having to do any more debates or campaigning, because ruh ruh ruh, gotta git-r-done, see how very busy we are! Sorry, the senator is very busy. And so is the governor, I guess, for some reason. You know how it is! Gotta pay the bills!

Give em credit for flexibility, I guess.

If you can't handle a financial crisis and a debate in the same week, I surely do not want you to be president.

Think about how this will play as political theatre, though. If Obama shows up at the debate, you can bet anything that a HUGE LEGISLATIVE BREAKTHROUGH will be announced just before it starts, and McCain will be there smiling the Congressional leaders and Bush saying, "Too bad my opponent was more interested in politics than the hard business of governing."

It makes me sick to think of it, but that's the way they'll play it.

Yeah, I've thought of that, but if they all just leave on their jets at the last minute, that's a suitable defense.

Personally, I'm seeing this as a stall for the VP. MCcain will insist, if tomorrow doesn't happen, that the VP get moved to later and he and Obama can fill that spot. Notice how little we've heard from Palin? Wow, but she's in the hot seat now getting prepped for next weeks debate...

Disclosure - if they change the debate schedule, it'll really fsck up my work schedule. :) So I'm personally vested in this, aside from the regular tax payer side.

Yes, I can see McCain really trying to use this against Obama.
