It's interesting to think that there are high school kids today who watch syndicated ST:TNG after school, and they have the same relationship with it that I did when I watched ST:TOS every weekday afternoon, 20 years ago.

Is TOS still in reruns anywhere, I wonder?

Last time I visited Pittsburgh for any length of time (probably two years ago?), there was a little cable station there playing original series reruns in "statistics and chat" mode. There were borders below and to the left of the program. In the left border area, they showed running stats like how often Uhura's panties were visible and how many aliens Kirk had made out with and how many times Shatner had overacted or said one or another of his catch-phrases. In the lower border, they were showing an ongoing moderated IM chat about the episode. Some mod asks a question and then lots of participants ignore it while they go WooHoo about Uhura's panties. It was actually pretty cool.
