Jmac's Arcade #6 - Pac Man

If you see a little icon instead of a video player, clicking it should make it appear... (Blah LJ)

I remember when PacMan came out for the Atari 2600. It was such an incredible disappointment. Ms. PacMan for the 2600, however, turned out a lot better.

Fun fact: the developers of Atari's Ms. Pac Man were the same people who created the arcade version.

"punched in the nuts"!

Great episode. I'm definitely more familiar with a home console version of Pac-Man (not the 2600, but I can't remember which it was; maybe it was even the C64?).

You are going to post about this on Gameshelf, yes?

Nice. Well writ. :)

Technical note, the closing audio (is that Amy?) is lower level than the rest of the audio, so gets slightly lost, at least in my headphones at work.

It's Julia ([livejournal.com profile] cthulhia). Yeah, I may have her redo it... it was recorded before I got my current nice microphone and it's very soft, even when cranked up in software.

Absolutely charming! And very well put together.

I never knew there was a console version--played it entirely at arcades. Nor did I know there was a literature on how to win!

Great ep, Jmac. Never knew you suffered from Pac-man fever. That said, I enjoyed the existential bleakness of the missile command ep even more. I got more attached to pinball tables than video games. I loved Haunted House. Good times.
