I have a doctor's appointment next month. I was hoping to fit one in at the start of this week, but there were some insurance registration hangups that ended up with the completion of my 2006 tax return as a dependency, so I had to kick it forward. (They wanted to see my Schedule C as proof of self-employment, but they didn't want to see my 2005 Schedule C with its ~$1.75 in O'Reilly royalties, which doesn't appear to be the tax filing of an independent software contractor).

MICHAEL: I almost had Pop-pop in Reno.
GEORGE MICHAEL: [Sadly] Yeah, me too.

On the third and final season of my Arrested Development download bolus. I feel almost bad about laughing at jokes that are only there as rewards for long-time viewers, but then again "long-time viewer" for me means that I started with the pilot episode only four months ago.

Finally got around to gluing graphics (via <itunes:image> tags) onto my two podcasts. Hmm, and now that I look I see that the Gameshelf one shows up in iTMS but not the Arcade's pretty graphic. I tried to go with the rectangular one with old-skool screen dimensions. I guess Apple insists on squares. All right then.

I also got an email from Apple, asking us video podcasters to start exporting at 640x480 because that looks nice on both AppleTV and iPod (which scales it down). Very well.

There's a Gameshelf shoot in less than two weeks and I still don't know what's gonna be shot! I've been on such a Volity jag that I really haven't thought about the video-production pillar in weeks. No complaints from me, mind, but I nonetheless must figure out what I'm doing there.

What a strange day. I have spent the last five hours seated and writing email. Which sounds cushy, except I feel like I've been working hard, and managed to develop an appetite. Time for a MEAT SAMMICH

Crazy goal: Fluxx in beta before the Mystery Hunt. Wish me luck!

I declined subscribing to COBRA insurance coz it was friggin 'spensive and am now hoping I didn't choose poorly, since I really must follow up on my teeth this month. If it turns out I need to have a $2000 root canal or something I will be right pissed.

I'm guessing this is unlikely since my teeth don't hurt, and I've been taking better care of them in the last year than ever before... but I still don't know the current status of the two unfilled cavities I was diagnosed with last year. (They actually found four, but chose to leave the smaller ones alone for the time being.)

Unless I'm severely unlucky, I'm probably looking at a couple more fillings, at worst. I dunno how much that costs.

ugh

My insurance company killed my policy due to non-payment. Fortunately, I called within the reinstatement-on-payment grace period, but that's not going to happen before tonight or tomorrow morning, when I am supposed to go up north to my own personal Grey Havens for a few days.

I really don't want to take a bus to Waterville. I'd sooner scrap the whole trip. There is no place in central Maine that is within walking distance of any other place; I would be immobilzed. Ugh.

I wonder what to do. I really want to see my northern friends again.

I feel a little bad that I can't just stay here over the Xmas thing, and be with local friends. This would result in making my family very sad and confused, though, and I do not wish to do that, even though I'm not very close to them.
