I have finally managed to catch the bug chewing through most every local I know, finally. It hit fast and hard while I was staring at wire strippers this evening at Micro Center: womph. Probably I'll just go to bed once I write this.
Things are going well. Had a surprisingly busy day, before our microscopic friends lay me flat. Chuck was chipper, and said the chapters are on-target, and advance-worthy. Hurrah! Then I signed and faxbacked the Network writer's agreement for my upcoming articles (the first of which hit the Net today), applied to several more jobs through BostonWorks' pushbutton application thingy, and had coffee with Jon at the diesel, at his suggestion, since he hadn't been there before. Now that I think about it, that should have been a worlds-colliding moment, having a diesel dark roast with this Perl god that I used to literally fear too much to talk to, not too long ago. Instead, we talked energetically for an hour or more about all kinds of stuff (including more job leads for meee). Yeah, it's all good.
In other news, we Morgudlians are settling in just fine. I feel a little cautious about sounding too optimistic, since I recall how happy I was when I moved into Chez Chestnut, and how rapidly that fell apart. But N&M, unlike C&C, are my friends before the move-in. (If we're still friends two months from now, then I figure we're doing something right.) We all care about the house, both in its living space and its computer network. One of us made the comment on Saturday that this will become a prime just-drop-by place, and our friends have done a good job proving us right, so far. Even our upstairs neighbor has taken to saying hi every so often. I think this is going to be a lot of fun.
