Sitting in the Arbitrarium's dining room, where it's relatively cool. Cross-ventilation helps. This house doesn't seem to retain heat like Minas Morgul, and it's also amply tree-shaded, so that working from home all day on Thursday wasn't too bad. There's still a point around 2 or 3 p.m. where the very texture of the air turns half-gelled with miasmic humidity, though. Ugh. Maybe it will be better today.

It's also kind of neat because I can hear someone nearby noodling around on a saxophone, and out my window can watch people walking by, while I sit here typing. It's like having the Diesel right in my own home! Uh-huh.

So, yeah. It's been about a month and I'm liking my apartment a great deal. It's a great space (as I've written about), and the location is wonderful too, between the quiet neighborhood, the sane parking, and the very short walking to many things (including the T). Impressing myself by keeping it reasonably clean, enough to have friends over now and again without having to say "sorry about the mess". I can see myself staying here for quite a while, maybe until I'm ready to actually try buying a place. Who knows?

WarioWare is one of the most clever video game concepts I've seen in a while, and I don't regret buying a new video game system just to play it (I suppose it helped that the system was just a hunnert bucks). It also wins in the "I want to play a video game for only five minutes" category, a rare and wonderful thing these days.

The scary thing is that 25 years ago, any of its dozens of micro-games would have made for an entire Atari VCS game. (Maybe not a very popular one, mind you, but a publisher wouldn't have balked at charing $30 for a title that modern attention spans get tired of after 5 seconds.) So I can fancy that I'm saving thousands of dollars by buying a Game Boy. I'm a genius.

I have so much writing to get done today it isn't funny. Off I go. Have a lovely weekend.
