So naturally, as soon as I note all the writing I have to do, I recall that local friend J is having an all-day DDR fest, and of course I can't miss that. Heavens no. So it goes. I'll try to catch up tomorrow. (This is all ORANet writing... work-work is actually going quite well, as is MIGS development. Juggle, juggle.)

According to [livejournal.com profile] tahnan I have quite the Drunken Master style on the pads, at least when I'm playing doubles (one player on two pads). I keep misplacing my center of gravity, but still hit the right notes more often than not. Someone else assured me that I earned 8 million style points even when I scored poorly, so that was nice. We all played for many hours, and many blessings were bestowed upon J's new air conditioner. And now it occurs to me that I will have to get an air conditioner if I wish to ever use my own DDR pads before autumn. (Still have to get an actual DDR disc, too.)

Also spread the WarioWare bug that [livejournal.com profile] monkeymad bit me with last week, and played Mario Kart against [livejournal.com profile] mattrolls, and then said gaah 10 straight hours of video games enough good night!!! and so to bed.

The video for Special Cases by Massive Attack, which I just watched through the iTunes store, prominently features pin-transfer robots in it, and high-throughput screening plates, the sorts of things I (very indirectly) work with at ICCB. (Hence my HTS::Plate Perl modules, heh.) I thought that was kind of neat.

I say "?" at the video other than that novelty, though; it seems like it's supposed to carry a message payload, but, er, huh?

Also I have been playing Gran Turismo in writing breaks, playing the grunt-grunt vroom-vroom games to offset the inherent girliness of the fru-fru dancey games, but it doesn't help, because it's rather an affront to my manhood when the same two farking sportscars nonchalantly flick my gnattish little Daihastu out of the way at the finish line, five times in a row. Blah.
