I only now just figured out that the reason my Tivo has been mis-recording things for more than two weeks (I recorded two hours of The Weather Channel instead of the movie you recommended, [livejournal.com profile] modpixie) hasn't been the Tivo's fault at all... it's my channel lineup that's gone bonkers!! A little while ago I had SpikeTV where I should have had PBS, and now I have MSNBC in the same spot?! And The Daily Show has moved to the Fox News Channel, apparently.

The problem was strange and novel enough to move the RCN tech support person to not treat me like an idiot there solely to waste her time. So a technician is due to visit Thursday noonish.

[livejournal.com profile] tmcm has started posting photos of dress and tech rehearsals for the Too Much Cofee Man Opera, and it makes me sad that I'm on the wrong coast to see it! http://tmcm.livejournal.com/198619.html http://tmcm.livejournal.com/198199.html

I am completely obsessed with Witching Hour, the latest album by Ladytron. I like the whole thing an awful lot. I've absorbed it enough that I can listen to it loud while coding, and indeed am wearing my headphones now so I can listen to it this way without disgruntling the Zarf.

I'm not feeling terribly social right now but I may go to a thing that Harmonix is hosting tonight anyway since it's just a short Red Line ride away. One of the Gameshelf's crew will be there and maybe he can introduce me to new people. This is good, even though I'm too deep in hack-mode to feel particularly needful of more networking at this moment.

Have discovered the world of Creative Commons-licensed music, which I'd like to start exploiting for my podcasts. Yahoo's CC search is a very nice resource.

It took well over an hour this time, and now I have two manly new scabs above and below my mouth. Perfect for making first impressions tonight.

Seriously, I can't risk sawing my face open - which AFAICT is a completely random event, happening maybe one out of four shaves - before one of the upcoming Gameshelf shoots. It's time to give up and invest in an electric razor, especially since (a year into beardlessness) it's pretty clear that I don't care about having a super-close shave, since I usually let a day or two go by before scraping it off again.

I theorize that this isn't because I am a sloppy razor-jockey but because I still have just enough of an acne problem to give me a stready supply of tiny but juicy zits to tear asunder. But, whatever: this stops now.
