Tuesday night [livejournal.com profile] dictator555 visited to help me haul my furniture around, implementing some redesign ideas she came up with last weekend, on my commission. I haven't plugged anything pluggy back in yet (on laptop now) but I'm already loving the effect of just having everything shifted around and the office turned back into a dining/gaming room. I feel like I've moved. If you've been here before you'll really notice the difference on your next visit.

I didn't mention before that Sunday night I got to play with a Wii, finally. The host had only one controller so there was none of the tennis that everyone's crowing about, but there was bowling, and that was plenty fun.

I ignored [livejournal.com profile] mrmorse's earlier admonition to let someone else make your Mii, so mine was based on my own perception of myself, and ended up looking something like a Planet of the Apes character with glasses. Other folks' Miis were group-build affairs and were all quite accurate. Just as with City of Heroes, it's almost half the fun, even though the goal is less making crazy character concepts and more just potato-heading up a Jpop-cute version of yourself.

Can you rescue Miis from friends' Wiis via broadband or do I actually have to go to this person's house and pick em up when I finally get my own Wii? It's not like we're more than acquaintances, so I'd rather just download them then have to go visit...

Spent hours being a perfectionist with Jmac's Arcade audio and ended up with something even worse than the first draft, hours later. It'll be days until I actually finish it. You'll know when I do.

Ow my head.

prog: (what_you_say)
Woke up this morning with a terrible headache. Three CVS-brand Excederin-clones and a half-hour nap later it's just barely contained. I think I may have caught it from [livejournal.com profile] dictator555, who was also having similar pain earlier, but are there illnesses whose only symptom is a headache? I don't really get them all that often anymore, and it's not like it's from dehydration. I hope it's not from the exertion of moving my furniture around, for that would be just pathetic.

It takes me a while to get used to some things. Yesterday someone said "Why don't you call your girlfriend and tell her that [etc. etc.]" as a way of delivering some practical short-term advice, but I initially parsed it as sarcasm. That is, I heard girlfriend as "this person you like so much and whom I will now tease you about by calling them your girlfriend (or boyfriend)". It's certainly been used far more often like that to me than it has in any literal way.

Guitar Hero is lots of fun (and it's gotten me back into DDR too, I think) but I still niid a Wii. My desire's only been enflamed since actually getting to play with one. I'm hearing more often of friends finally managing to score systems, so it's only a matter of time.

I wanna work on Gameshelf but my camera's all gunked up and I'm waiting for some cleaning supplies to appear in the mail. At least I hope it's gunked up, coz otherwise I must conclude that the tumble it took a little over a year ago rendered it incapable of stably exporting video, and this would make me very sad.

She let me pick her up yesterday and was very mellow about it, even purry. I was really surprised! And we play chase-each-other-around games sometimes.

OTOH I don't think she cleans herself very well and I have to wipe her butt for her sometimes. Frowny. Why do I end up with all the poopy cats?

She's here through the rest of this month. I don't think that her getting used to me will cause her to not flip out at seeing my mom again.

Any locals want a nice wooden CD rack? It's quite handsome and almost as tall as you are. But it doesn't serve any function in my house and I'm gonna curb it.

Live Werewolf game scheduled for 8PM eastern time this evening. I'll be "filming" it for The Gameshelf, probably using only a minute or less of footage from it.

Visit http://volity.net and come play!

I think this Freezepop album is only my second-ever video-game-driven music purchase. And the first since 1995, when I liked a couple of the songs on Road Rash 3 for Sega CD.

(I have some more recent video game OSTs, but I didn't exactly purchase them.)
