Volity.net is still down. After two days of our computer going down for reasons our hosting provider isn't sure about, followed by a series of technicians not having any idea what to do about it, I asked them to wipe the machine so we can restore from backup. I was told that they could have that done by tomorrow morning, after they do some other stuff for some other people.
daerr sez I was in my rights to demand it now, since two days of non-service was just unacceptable. I felt bad about not being mean enough. The problem with me is that whenever anyone throws me a bone, no matter how paltry, my instinct is to slink away quickly in a position of subservient gratitude.
Tomorrow morning I'll call and bother some more people. Until then our everything-server is still down. I feel about as productive as I did at Harvard. Fooey.
We'll probably switch providers after we're back online... we had some stupid billing problems earlier this month, and setup problems last month.

ISP in a can (ispiac) machine is owned and being built. Should be online this coming weekend, perhaps even with it's major abilities in place.

(We have mail and DNS... it's our database and application servers that are down and they take significant resources.)
