I haven't cut myself shaving this year so far, and not for some time behind that either. What I was missing before was the knowledge that it's good to soak yer face in hot water immediately prior to applying shaving cream. Yes, duh, but nobody told me that and it took awhile to discover by myself, OK?

Never saw any of those old cartoons at a barbershop where they wrap the guy's face with the steaming hot towel before his shave, huh?

I did but I thought they did that afterwards. I just don't know.

There are still times in my life when I will point at something and say "I thought those were only in cartoons!" By which I mean, here is an artifact from early 20th century America.

Also, lots of guys wait until after they shower to shave, just to let that hot water do its stuff first.

I think that every time I cut myself earlier happened later in the day, long after my morning shower, and it took a long time to make the connection.

I prefer to shower after shaving, because it's easier to wet my face by hand before shaving than it is to clean off the shaving cream by hand after shaving.

Sometimes I go out not realizing I have s. cream in my ears. Sometimes I have toothpaste on my chin, too. So bad.
