Seriously considering applying to ETech 2008's CFP. In fact, I have already written my (exactly) 100-word bio first, which with my ego is basically like eating dessert first:
I can objectively state that applying would be a very bold move. I'd want to highlight the web client during the presentation, because it will have been in beta for several months by then - but at the time of my application, it's not even in alpha yet. On the other hand, everything's going to plan so well (and ahead of schedule) so far, it doesn't seem outright foolhardy, either.
Jason McIntosh is a Boston-based writer, entrepreneur, and hacker. The study of games has been a lifelong passion to him. He has two podcasts about games, and has been working on Volity, an open Internet game platform, since 2000. He is remembered by some within O'Reilly as a programmer who tried to get everyone in the Cambridge office to play board games every Friday. The co-author of two O'Reilly books, "Perl & XML" and "Mac OS X in a Nutshell", he currently pays the bills as a Web programming contractor while somehow trying to twist a careeraboutout of Volity.
