For this cut, I edited out the potty humor used as the monologue's intro and outtro, since it just seemed random without the full episode's frame story of us hanging out in a bar. (And yet, I left in the sound effect of barroom background conversation running through the whole dialogue section. Oh well.)

I don't think I'll bother putting up Scott's review or any of the other show segments on YouTube. I like the idea of putting only our original game reviews on YouTube, encrusted with pleas to visit the website and watch the full episode.

Speaking of which, I've been learning the ropes with Movable Type 4.0 by coming up with a new Gameshelf website that will replace both the current jmac.org one and the increasingly crummy blip.tv site. MT4 has become thunderously more advanced than it was in 2004. I have some other sly ideas in this sphere, too... you'll see em when you'll see em.

can we talk about the jacket for a second? i think it's giving off the wrong vibe. like, at first glance, it makes me think "oh, he lives in the hills above ruby ridge and will have an FBI standoff soon." maybe just a smidge homegrown militia man. as i watch more, i am fine with it, but that first impression is a doozy.

Yes, let us talk about the jacket. Are you sad about me wearing a jacket at all, or do you think I ought to wear a different one? (It's green corduroy, if you can't tell from the blurry YouTube.)

Or does it not match my jeans-n-sneakers otherwise wardrobe?

i am not against the jacket as a concept, but maybe not that fond of that particular jacket. i don't think the cut and color flatter you on camera.

I would welcome suggestions of other things to try. I would like to wear some kind of jacket, because I like that sort of casual/chic look.

I will ask around my more fashion-aware friends too.

The google ads on the notification email for your comment wanted me to go look at equestrian gear.

you must obey google. MUST.OBEY.GOOGLE. equestrian themed episode!

please keep in mind, i am judging by what i can see on the you tube clip which isn't exactly accurate, but the cut appears to be a little too long, and the pockets a little too pronounced. i would try out a couple of different jackets to see what might look best. i know i am happy to render an opinion ;)

anyway, i think the overall concept - jeans + jacket is sound. a good look all together. just a matter of finding the right jacket, i guess.

I have a habit of buying shirts that are a size too large; I'm an M that feels more comfortable in Ls. Only in the last year or so have certain locals stepped forward to point this out and help me shrink the overall fabrical mass of my wardrobe a bit.

This particular jacket is an L when it perhaps ought to be an M. I got it mail-order so I had only the numbers to go on.

The nice thing of a show themed around games is that we can totally do an equestrian episode. I can easily name three horsey-related games off the top of my head, even though I've played only one of them. (None of them are Chess.) Maybe next year sometime.

When I can afford it, I'll investigate the jacket situation. After I got the coat last year I modeled it for Zarf (this being the waning days of the Volity office in my dining room) and he made a comment to the effect that it was very hobo. I think I fill it out just enough that it bothers only people with a better eye for such things.
