Bad news

The gravity of Gustav is starting to get through to me. (As is the possibility that we can now expect "100-year storms" every couple of years or so.) It looks like it could be worse than Katrina.

On the off chance anyone reading this lives on the northern Gulf coast: what can I say? Be safe. Consider leaving. Like, now.

In other news, if you're buying that shit about Palin's baby (which I won't even dignify with a link), please put it down and back away from it. You do not want that; it is beneath you. There are so many more legitimate (and far less creepy) attack angles, if you wish to make attacks. Leave the kerning for the wingnuts.

I am amused, based on observation, that the outdoors temperature is exactly at the spot where one would consider it too cold to walk around without a shirt on, except for the Significantly Tattoo Covered, who are like ahhh, finally.

Clouds.

If you're in the Boston area around the time I'm writing this, go have a look at the clouds. I wish I had a working camera!

Browsing my friendsfriends I find this post and think back on some fine midwinter driving adventures on Southern Maine's highways, running one gopher errand or another for the Bangor Daily.

I wonder if it will snow more than twice in Boston this winter.

I really hope the hunt won't involve much outside activity.

I got a temporary Harvard ID today, so at least I'll be able to board the bus to get home, instead out waiting outside for the T again. Wheeee, that was a mistake.
