YouTube UI nuttiness resolved, it seems

I declare the YouTube craziness I spotted yesterday to be an accident on their part. Those video-switching controls went away entirely last night, and now they're back - but only at the end of the video, where they make much more sense. I will give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that that's where they were supposed to be all along, but they had a release-engineering oopsie and published an early or otherwise flawed version of the player.

They've had those 'watch these videos' at the end of the regular videos for some time now.

They've had a thing where two alternate suggestions at a time are displayed. This was an entirely different set of controls, with a conga-line of videos that looked and acted a little like the Mac OS X dock, and giant forward and back arrows.

And for a little while all of that was overlaid on top of the video you were trying to watch!
